Innovative grassroots strategies to influence the new parliament

We present two of the most innovative actors in grassroots lobbying to discuss how they use cutting-edge technology and best practices from digital and grassroots advocacy in a European context. The incoming European Parliament will shake-up the Brussels lobby scene as the new intake of younger, community-driven and social media savvy MEPs will move away from traditional lobbying. Understanding how to influence the new MEP cohort will be vital in successfully communicating your message. The confirmed speakers are: Diego Naranjo, from European Digital Rights (EDRi), will talk about the campaign saveyourinternet.eu, which lobbied against the controversial Article 7 (formerly Article 13) of the Copyright Directive. He will share with us the objective, strategy and the tactics that they used, what they did differently, and the lessons learned.Graeme Taylor, from ECPA, the organisation representing the crop protection industry in Europe. Graeme will talk about the cutting-edge technology they’re using to run their public affairs operations in Brussels, including some award winning campaigns such as #withorwithout on pesticides. Leyla Sertel, Director of European Markets at Quorum, the leading public affairs software company, will moderate the event and share her insights about trends in the digital advocacy space in Europe. Quorum provides one integrated platform for stakeholder engagement, issues management, monitoring, and grassroots advocacy. The agenda of our event is the following: 12:00-12:30 networking lunch.
